We feel absolutely blessed to live and work in a spectacular and gorgeous mountainous area and to provide our customers with fantastic and unique decorative stone products from the beautiful Pacific Northwest!
We were founded in February of 2002. Blue Slate, Inc. is a family owned and operated decorative stone wholesale company located in beautiful northeastern Washington State.
In 2002, we began producing columnar basalt. In 2003, we began production at the Eagle Mtn Slate Quarry in northeastern Washington State. In late 2007 BSI owner, Jesse Schacher, developed a slate groundcover quarry in Washington State. We are now producing and supplying Eagle Mtn Slate and WoodStone groundcover products to retail customers throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Jesse has been in the decorative stone and aggregate business for over twenty-five years. Just prior to starting our own business, he worked for Pacific Rock Products in Vancouver, Wa. for eleven years as a supervisor. During that time he managed Pacific Rock's Fisher Quarry for seven years and operated his own decorative stone company, Rock Solid, as well. The knowledge and experience he's brought to Blue Slate, Inc. is invaluable.
In his spare time, occasionally he installs landscape projects on properties that we own and also for friends and family members. Photos of his creative work can be viewed on the Photo Gallery pages and in the Landscape Videos.
